COSTUMES / MAKEUP

Rehearsal Report # 13 (1.29.17)
- In Act 1, Scene 3, is it possible for Tom to have a more casual winter coat for when he goes to visit Gabe and Karen than what he wears in Scene 2?

Rehearsal Report # 12 (1.28.17)

Rehearsal Report # 11 (1.26.17)

Production Meeting # 3 (1.26.17)
- Just did a little preview with Linda in the costume shop.
- Trying to hash out Joe in a track suit for the Martha’s Vineyard scene – will have two options to present at tech.
- Did some informal fittings with cast members this past week to head off everyone being gone for ACTF. She’ll do full fittings when everyone returns the following week.
- Next week Marcia also plans to pull rehearsal pieces for when they come back from ACTF so that they can practice the onstage changes.
- Marcia inquired about the furniture coloring, but the furniture trip hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully next week.
- Marcia asked about the crew for the show so that they can be costumed
Katryne says she’ll need 3 people for the crew to do the changeover. This could include Nour. Linda says the understudies could be a part of things too. She will confirm with us that they are available.
- Crew: Marie Sylvester and Emma Impaglizo needed on costumes for musical, but could do something else for this show. Nick is wardrobe head, could use one 78  crew member on the costume crew.

Hair/Makeup:

- No mustache on Joe – Marcia relayed that Michael thinks it will make him look older, rather then 12 years younger and everyone else agrees.

Production Meeting # 2 (1.18.17)
  • Marcia mentioned the possibility of one of the guys having a moustache at the beginning of Act 2, most likely Gabe, which Linda would like to think about.
  • For the time change from Act 2 scene 1 to scene 2, the girls will be underdressed so they can move directly to the patio scene.
  • Marcia has four separate overall looks for the characters, with Tom being the most conservative and Beth being the most flamboyant; a subdued classic look for Tom, and prints and color for Beth. Karen is more preppy, wearing neutrals and pastels, and Gabe falls somewhere in between.
  • Costumes does not need to worry about the wedding photos that Joe and Lauren would like to create.

Good thinking about scheduling hair and makeup with Joe and Lauren for a wedding photo.

Marcia, we can plan on a close-up of faces, but might you have a jacket, shirt and tie (for Gabe) and dressy blouse, no veil, but another head-piece (for Karen)?  Let's give them a May/June 1986 wedding - what do you think?

I've copied Joe and Lauren on this email; and since I am considering having Joe sport a mustache for 1986 (Act 2, Scene 1), we should schedule a date after the KCACTF Region 1 Festival, during the week of Feb. 6, to take the photo.

Let's talk about that mustache at the next production meeting, too.

Rehearsal Report # 4 (1.17.17)

Rehearsal Report # 2 (1.10.17)

Rehearsal Report # 1 (1.9.17)

Rehearsal Report # 0 (12.16.16)
- Nothing for tonight. Thanks!

Production Meeting #1 (12.7.16)
Costumes
- Act II will be busier in terms of costume changes.
- Setting it in the past makes it easier to pull from stock.
- Marcia is going to read her new script and then put some storyboards together for Linda.  They’ll meet after the new year. Linda is back in town - 1/8/16.
Makeup/Hair
- Both actresses are blonde and have long “college girl” hair… not really in style for the period. Michael is hopeful one of them will let him cut/color
- It would be great to not have to use a wig… a little distracting for this type of show.
